A: Beginning with the 2019-20 season, travel team season fees will be structured as follows:
A: As a non-profit organization, GPYHA focuses only on covering our annual expenses. Simply put, we set our season tuition to be able to just cover these expenses.
Since not a single person that enables GPYHA to happen for our kids are compensated in any way (including board members, coaches, team managers, coordinators, etc), our expenses depend mostly on our ice time expense (the largest expense by far), league-related expenses, ref fees, etc. Our fees are set in line with covering these costs every season.
We are grateful for the plethora of the high-quality unpaid professionals that enable us to keep our season fees as low as possible every year.
A: We provide an option to pay in full when registering for the season or to pay in installments.
Beginning with the 2019-20 season, registration for the impending season will open directly after tryouts in late March. Upon the posting of 2019-20 season roster assignments, players will have 14 days to commit to the roster by registering for the 2019-20 season.
Two travel team season payment options will be available:
A: Tournaments are entered solely by the discretion of a team's coaches in coordination with families that comprise a team. Fees for these tournaments will vary materially from team to team and are not covered by the travel team season fees. Most coaches will agree with the team on which tourneys to participate in and will also make this an optional event for players.
A: Full season squirt and older travel goalies will receive 50% refund/rebate after rosters are finalized and tuition is paid in full. This applies whether a team has one or two rostered goalies.
A: Bantams and PeeWee Smythe teams play 15 minute periods versus 12 minute periods for other teams. This necessitates purchasing larger blocks of ice for games, which increases our costs for those teams.
A: Should a Bantam player make a High School team and the High School coach does not allow the player to play in GPYHA, the player will receive a $600 credit. The player can also play in any regular season and playoff games his/her HS coach allows and can also practice with the bantam team as permitted by the HS coach.
