Another fun season of hockey thanks to many volunteers

Our Special Hockey program will have their final ice session on March 21st.  It was another year of fun and development for both veteran and newcomers.  The RI Special Hockey Pirates hosted the East Providence Townies and the Brown Women's Hockey Team on two separate occasions.  According to a poll in the locker room after the game, 'the kids won both games' !

Every ice session is divided into push-chair / beginner skaters and seasoned player who work on basic skating and hockey skills.

The league would like to extend appreciation to all the volunteers who make the program a success each week.  Ian Ridlon and Mike Forrest, assistant coaches for East Providence High, are the head coaches for older group of skaters.  They are assisted by Mike Anthony along with a staff of junior coaches including Eric and Jarrod from the EP Hockey team, as well as Ryan and Nate Watts, James Carlson, Brendan Ridlon, Andrew Plumb, Jamie Coyle and Malachi Letourneau.   The beginner skaters are coached by Elizabeth King, Julia Plumb, Kathryn Cunningham, Kyle McCabe, Xavier Frick and Deb Ormerod, who is a one of the founding directors of the program.

Thanks to all the dedicated volunteers who make life a bit better for a very special group of kids!
