The GPYHA, Rhode Island Hockey and The Southern New England Hockey Conference are excited to announce the restructuring of league operations.

Beginning with the 2014/2015 season the SNEHC will be privately managed and operated. This change was unanimously approved by all SNEHC Member Associations at the April 21st RI Hockey board meeting.

The new operating structure is expected to bring an added level of professionalism to the day-to-day operations along with adding excitement for the players and their families. Additionally, league operators, Jack Coffey and Matt Hammatt, have indicated that they will focus on the growth of the league in the Southeastern New England area. “We’re just thrilled that the Member Associations showed the trust in us to organize, run and develop a league that will make us all stronger, in the short term and in the future.” says Jack Coffey. “We’re committed to giving 110% effort to making this the best league that is possibly can be – a league that teams will want to be part of.”

RI Hockey President Bob Larence is also excited about the change “This was a concept that we had discussed, in one form or another, for a while. Once Matt and Jack made their proposal, it took some deliberation and discussion, but ultimately everyone agreed that it was our best option. The new structure will allow RI Hockey to focus its energies and resources on governance of USA Hockey within RI, while the league can concentrate on creating a better product and identifying opportunities for growth.”
