It is with a heavy heart I share the passing of a longtime, and beloved, Bears coach, Jack Jones. Jack had been with the Jr Bears, coaching and sharing his wisdom with kids since before 2010, when he was coaching with the old Pawtucket Pirates. Jack was an avid hockey player, coach, and mentor, both on and off the ice, and his sudden passing has left many Bears' families and players remembering his warmth and kindness. His viewing and funeral details are below, and please note if you are able to attend the service it is requested you wear a Bears, or any, hockey jersey as a tribute to Coach Jack. In addition, there is a Go Fund Me set up for his wife, Carol, for funeral and medical expenses. Thank you for remembering this beloved coach and keeping his family in your thoughts.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jack's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the St. Aidan-St. Patrick Parish, 1460 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
