Congratulations to the GPYHA PeeWee Smythe Jr. Bears, who won the Newport Christmas Tournament this past weekend. for the Peewee A Division.

The Bears went a perfect 3-0 in round-robin play with wins over Barnstable (4-3), Avon (6-1) and SRI (11-2) to meet a heavily fortified Pembroke PeeWee A team in the Championship match. The Bears found themselves down 3-1 in the Championship game, but fought hard and battled back to end regulation knotted at 4-4. Overtime started with a frenetic pace and ended with the Jr. Bears finding the back of the Pembroke net 2 minutes.

Congratulations to all of the Jr. Bears teams for their great work this past weekend.
